Roland's Point of view....

Roland was actually quite the character and whatever went through his mind before the battle probably had a little bit to do with family or close relatives. He may have thought about in the negative point of view like if He does the battle. He was a proud and very arrogant man. He would probably be thinking something more on the lines like this; “ If I win this battle imagine all the good that would come my way, all the cheers that I will feed of the thousands and thousands of people screaming and singing all sorts of victory songs. They will say ooohh Roland you are good oohh Roland you are great. And the king himself would walk his fat old self down the castle walk way and personally congratulate me for all my hard efforts to ensure his kingdom another prospers few thousand years. Yes that will be all amazing especially when news gets back to the kingdom about Roland’s amazing battle the people will be simply ecstatic. Then again on the other hand if I lose this battle, I think I would simply just fall down on my knees and cry a cry of desperation to the Lord above and just let everybody realize that we gave it our all but even thought I do that what will my friends and family think about me? They will think that I am a weak and insignificant little fool. For all this I must win this battle.

Song of Roland (A Leader)

I
I would say that it is a little bit of both worlds. A leader has to have a little bit of both this aspects so as to run a well – off country or business. But if I was pushed to a point where I would have to actually choose a quality, I would go with the quality that a leader can lead by setting an example through individual excellence. Look at most successful businessmen today. They usually use this quality as a main driving force and to inspire both themselves and the people around them. They earn respect from people who they do not even know and the people who work both close and far from them. They may be looked up to as role models, figureheads or leaders in their own aspect. This was a great quality for most leaders a like. When their subjects saw all his or her hard earned life style they were also maybe inspired to go home and try make something of themselves like open a business or try and bulk up to become one of the king’s famous knights at the now famous round table. I strongly support a leader should have both aspects and qualities of a leader, the ability to set an example through individual excellence and the ability to make sure that the whole team functions smoothly as a single unit I think that if you lean more to one of the two then a person can defeat the whole idea but it takes a little bit of both worlds to make a great leader in the community.

II
 A leader first of all should be wise and always know what he is up against.
 A leader should listen to his people.
 A leader should not go against his people
 A leader should be a strong or courageous fellow
 A leader should be honest with his tax payer’s money and be responsible

III
In my opinion he was not a good leader because he did not listen to the people. He was actually drowning in his own pride and refusing to be wrong because he was always right. And that is why I stated that it takes both abilities to be a good leader.

education does opens doors

I have to agree 100% with this statement because education does open doors where none seen to exist because take a look around your self for just a minute see most of the famous business men around you this opportunity did not just fall out of the sky and into their laps no some of them had a very troubled and disturbed up bringing with not so very fortunate parents or their familes were not that rich but they did not sit there and sulk they went to school focused and knew they had a common goal in mind and that was to be successful in what they were targeting in life. Most of this men and women never saw themselves with all the wealth that they own today but because they kept focused and were definitely focused and were willing to go the extra mile just so they could make it out of their misery and troubled lives as young people growing up in rough times. So the person really never thinks that this door is even there for people of his class but is shocked to see that education can really take people far and help them attain better futures so yes I do agree with this statement that it does open doors that do not exist.

censorship

I have to agree with mathabane and the whole idea of his stories being censored. People have the tendancy these days to down grade things not in the context of bringing down or putting down but in the sense that things have to fit with their lifestyles and how they do things. so unfortunately his story was one of them, it may have been a really graphic and quite mind blowing acts of violent during the apartheid that most people know was a very tough and rough time that people in South Africa had to go through but then we also have to realize that this a man talking, and telling his story of his life adventures and near encounters and this are things that really captivated him and were dear to him so when someone goes through the trouble of removing that whole scene of the story, he has actually removed a really significant part of the authors works which he wrote in order for the world to know his story. This parts that are censored out are a very big time in his life and maybe he could just rate the book a little bit higher and for the more mature people who can handle his stories. Yes there are times when censor ship is actually necessary like basically in almost all forms of media because our world is developing really fast and media is actually a really big company and promising in terms of investments so people need to watch what they see or hear in this media because companies now are getting the latest shows just to be the person with the latest show now this shows mostly hurt the youth because they watch television most of the time and will be exposed to these things that will teach them wrong.

Truth Project

The video was not actually that bad, it was pretty good but the fact that it was a lecture was not that incredible because lectures tend to turn me off. the professor who teaches the class seems amazing because he knows all this things that people tend to just look over and not pay attention to. The way they use rel life people from the true world to answer questions is good because it is always good to hear someone else’s opinion from your level of intelligence and who you can connect to, before you consult the proffesionals. I enjoyed all the discussions because he was simply talking about things that are here and that are real but we simply just put them off because of fear or neglect for the truth. This journey helps one realize different aspects of his or her life that they really do not consider to look at. The small questions that he asks like what is evil?! You know questions that someone knows what the answer is but cannot explain it this questions are things that can twist a persons brain and get then working over drive trying to figure the answer out but you cannot because the answers are just big and vast that different people have different answer. Another cool fact about this whole truth tour is that it can relly test ones faith and to get you asking yourself where you really believe in the right religion, whether you believe in the right belief or do you actually have enough faith in the all powerful God. It gets one thinking of whether they are in the right place at the right time and that everything happens for a reason and that nothing is coincidence. It gets one thinking wheteher they have been lowered into all this false belifs because it is it what every one is doing.

Ghosts

In the Joy Luck Club meaning of the ghost is ignore and forgotten. Story didn’t mention a lot about real meaning of ghost. So some of people may say it is kind of described. However, I think this is more complex image than what people think. I believe this is very sad thing in Asia countries. because in Asia we are respect people even if we don’t know them. If someone forgotten in the family member, this is saddest thing. Furthermore it shows strict culture style. Even I have same opinion. I can’t accept this kind of mother. I’m not saying every Asian doing like that. However, Most of people may have same idea like this in Asia. Some of other countries culture can accept this kind of happening. .but I am more familiar the Joy Luck Club story.

Ying-Ying "Betty" St. Clair

Ying-Ying "Betty" St. Clair was born into a wealty family. Betty was born into a conservative family she was taught to be gentle. Born in the year of a tiger. She keeps her feelings bottled in. She is very passive and accepts whatever wrong comes her way.
Her weakness would have to be being passive. She marries a man not out of love but because she belives it is her fate and it is what is in store for her. She does not expect a lot for herself and takes whatever chance she gets. Even though she gets a second chance at life she does not expect much out of it. She finally finds a break out of her un successful life style when an American man comes to court her but she is reluctant about it and is still controlled.
