King Oedipus

The end was actually quite a shocker and really tragic, to see someone of high stature fall down to a low stature was not actually what we were expecting. I guess I was expecting him to be the victor of the whole story and to come out on top in the end of everything. It would have been better of if he had just listened to Jocasta much previously then maybe he would not even be in this dilemma. The downfall of King Oedipus to me shows that when you go so far to find out the truth and about your past, in the end very many people can be hurt especially yourself. In return his want to seek the truth was his downfall when he answered the riddle that the sphinx talked about, it all came back to him eventually. It is actually sad to see such a strong and powerful man fall from power. Oedipus is a really great man and his fall from power shows that even the mightiest man to can fall from power. Creon finally takes power even though I still kind off saw this part coming it was all a matter of time, but in a sense I feel really bad for Oedipus whom had to go through all this stuff to then finally lose it all in the end and the fact that the person whom he accused finally emerges victorious was a pity
